Understanding the test methods of metal material torsion testing machines

a. Principle of experiment

The twisting of metal wire is based on the sample itself as the axis and is uniformly twisted in a one-way or alternating direction until the sample breaks or reaches the specified number of twists.

b. Sample

The sample should be intercepted from any part of the wire passing the appearance inspection. If the relevant standards or agreement between the two parties stipulate otherwise on the sampling site, it will be implemented in accordance with the regulations.

The specimens should be as straight as possible. If necessary, the specimen can be straightened, and when it cannot be straightened by hand, the specimen can be placed on the plane of wood, plastic or copper and gently hammered straight with a hammer made of these materials.

During straightening, the surface of the sample must not be damaged or be subjected to any distortion.
