In wire and cable detection, the elongation of break and tensile strength need to be completed on the electronic universal testing machine, and it is also a wire and cable tensile testing machine. The test method is as follows:

1. Elongation of break

On the tensile tester, a straightened sample with a free test length of 200mm~250mm was stretched to the conductor break point at a rate of (5±1) mm/s. The ratio of the linear increment of the length during breaking to the free test length is calculated, which is expressed as a percentage.

Three samples were tested, three test values ​​were recorded, and their average values ​​were taken as elongation of break.

2. Tensile strength

Tensile strength is the ratio of the tensile force when the conductor breaks and its original cross-sectional area.

A straightened sample with a free test length of 200mm~250mm was stretched to the conductor break point at a rate of (5±1) mm/s on the tensile tester to record the tension breaking force during breaking.

Three samples were tested, and the original cross-sectional area and the three tensile force test values ​​were recorded, and the average ratio of the tensile force to the original cross-sectional area was taken as the tensile strength.
