Technology development of instrumentation development in China:
There are many types of instrumentation products and a wide coverage. According to the new national economic classification standards, instrument products have 20 subcategories, which can be summarized into four categories: industrial automation instruments and control systems, scientific testing instruments, commonly used universal testing machines instruments and special instruments. Among them, the two parts of the impact on the pillar industries and major equipment of the national economy and represent the industry level are automated control systems, main on-site instruments, and key precision testing instruments.

The third category is high and medium-sized products developed by my country, representative products such as dispersed control systems (DCS), hydraulic universal testing machines and electromagnetic flowmeters. The basic performance and functions of these products are close to foreign products, have a high market share, and are constantly increasing. However, the application objects are still mainly small and medium-sized engineering projects, and the main applications used in large-scale engineering projects are non-main devices, non-main control systems and non-critical workstations.
The fourth category is high and medium-grade products used in large-scale engineering projects mainly based on national key projects. At present, most of my country's projects use products produced and imported by three-investment enterprises, such as large DCS systems, PLCs, nuclear power digital control systems and instruments, high-precision pressure/differential pressure transmitters, large pressure differential/wear/impact resistant regulating valves, mass flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters and other products, as well as products with low usage, high technical difficulty and strong specialization.
Precision testing instruments: The precision testing instruments developed and produced in my country at this stage have reached the international technical level in the early and mid-1990s, mainly including chromatographic instruments, spectroscopic instruments, electrochemical instruments, research-type optical microscopes, scanning electron microscopes, electronic balances, centrifuges, electronic universal testing machines, ultrasonic flaw detectors, X-ray flaw detectors, electronic theodolites, precision electrical testing instruments, etc. The technical level of some products is close to and reaches the advanced level of the current international similar products, such as microwave plasma spectrometers, portable photoionization gas chromatographs, fully automatic atomic absorption spectrophotometers, atomic fluorescence spectrophotometers, laser interference metering instruments, total stations, fully automatic intelligent ultrasonic flaw detectors, fully automatic remote diagnosis optical microscopes, etc.
