Regional rankings are quietly changing. Big cities such as Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai were once the birthplace and concentration of my country's instrumentation industry. They have good conditions and have been among the best for a long time. With the changes and adjustments of regional industrial structure, although the foundation is good, the growth is not fast. In the first half of this year, it was around 10%, and the production and sales scale of Beijing and Shanghai have retreated to the fifth and sixth place in the country. Jiangsu, Guangdong, Zhejiang and Shandong came from behind, and their output value had surpassed Beijing and Shanghai. Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces have gathered foreign capital, and the instrument industry accounts for a large proportion, and it has jumped to the first and second places in the instrument industry in the province and city of the country. In recent years, private enterprises in Zhejiang have developed rapidly and have formed regional industrial clusters. It has large-scale products and wide-range products, and has also achieved large-scale production, as well as a model for industrialization of high-tech achievements, ranking third in the country.

Exports grow rapidly, imports grow slightly. In the first half of the year, the export of my country's instrument industry increased by 36.4%, and the export growth of industrial automation instrument systems, electronic measurement instruments, testing machines, experimental analytical instruments, medical instruments, etc. were all above 40%. In the past, industrial automation instruments, electronic measurement instruments, etc., which had small export volumes, increased by as much as 76.9% and 104.5%, respectively. Some products such as pressure/differential pressure transmitters, semiconductor component tests and communication instruments, precision balances, spectrophotometers, X-ray inspectors, etc. have increased exponentially. Among traditional export products, except for the increase of water meter by 65.5%, the increase in electricity meter, gas meter, optical components, telescope, microscope, thermometer, etc. is not large. Import growth has dropped to 7.2%. Optical instruments, most electrical instruments and medical instruments have turned to negative growth.

Independent innovation has made progress and major engineering applications have made breakthroughs. Digital oscilloscope, spectral absorption pollutant gas fiber detection system, pesticide residue field detection device, voltage and current transformer field calibration device, 10,000kg electric vibration experiment system, automatic shaft straightening machine (integrated measurement and processing equipment), three-phase multifunction standard electricity meter, environmentally friendly multi-channel atomic fluorescence spectrometer, virtual microscope system, X-ray real-time imaging detection system, full drilling instrument, process analysis complete system batch scientific research new product project has been successfully developed and has begun to enter the industrialization stage.

What is particularly exciting is that, as an important product of the instrumentation industry, dispersed control systems have been continuously making breakthroughs in national key projects. In January 2007, the decentralized control system developed by Beijing Guodian Zhiyuan Company was successfully put into operation at the 600MW subcritical unit of Longshan Power Plant in Hebei Province and entered commercial operation; in August 2007, the 600MW supercritical unit of Zhuanghe Power Plant in Liaoning was successfully put into operation. Zhejiang Zhongkong's decentralized control system with independent intellectual property rights was successfully bid for the 300,000 T synthetic ammonia/520,000 T urea project of Shandong Fertilizer Plant; in April 2007, it signed a control system to provide four main devices of Sinopec's Wuhan refining project of 5 million T/year. The above breakthrough will effectively break the monopoly of foreign companies on important instruments, control devices and automation systems in national key projects.
