Melt flow rate meter is also called a melt index meter used to determine the MFR value of the melt flow rate of various plastics and resins in a viscous state. It is suitable for engineering plastics such as polycarbonate, polyaryl sulfone, fluoroplasty, nylon and other high melting temperatures, as well as for plastics with low melting temperatures such as polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP), ABS resin, polyformaldehyde (POM), and polycarbonate (PC) resin. 2. Melt flow rate meter structure: This instrument consists of a plastic extrusion system, a temperature control system, a temperature measurement system, and an automatic material cutting system.
1) Plastic extrusion system
The plastic extrusion system consists of furnace body, heating cylinder, piston, die, weight, rod and other components.
2) Temperature control system
This system has the effect of heating and constant temperature, and the temperature control range is from room temperature to +300℃, and the accuracy is within ±0.5℃.
3) Temperature measurement system
The temperature value can be measured and displayed in real time.
4) Automatic material cutting system
Automatically cut materials according to the set time interval, and the time unit is seconds.
3. The recommended working environment for melt flow rate meter:
Working environment conditions: ambient temperature 10℃-40℃; relative humidity of the environment is 30%-80%; there is no corrosive medium around, no strong air convection; there is no vibration around, no strong magnetic field interference.
4. Operation steps of melt flow rate meter:
(1) Adjust the instrument to level and clean the instrument, workbench and tools.
(2) Turn on the power supply and the indicator light is on, indicating that the instrument has been powered on.
(3) Correct temperature, melt flow rate test, furnace body temperature setting and control are achieved by rotating the constant value control knob. When there is an indicator current for the heating ammeter, it means that the electric furnace is heating. The temperature control knob is generally designed at 50°C per week, and is not fine-tuned at 50 integer multiples.
It uses a high-temperature heating furnace to make the measured object reach a molten state under specified temperature conditions. The object to be tested in this molten state is subjected to an extrusion test through small holes of a certain diameter under a prescribed load. In plastic production, melt index is commonly used to represent the physical properties of polymer materials such as fluidity and viscosity in the molten state. The so-called melt mass flow rate refers to the extrusion amount converted into 10 minutes by the average weight of each stage of the extruded sample.
